Spun, designed by Thomas Heatherwick, is not immediately apparent as a chair. It looks more like a sculpture or a spinning top than something for sitting on, but Heatherwick is known for his unconventional approach to design. He wanted to explore the possibility of creating furniture which could be both functional & comfortable, whichever way you leaned on it. Inspired by metal spinning, the surprisingly ergonomic chair is formed from a single profile rotated through 360 degrees. While sitting, the user can even spin round in a complete circle without falling out. I haven't had a chance to try one of these chairs out yet, but I would like to, as it looks like a lot of fun!
